excited about average

So my new favorite website is www.mylifeisaverage.com.  My little brother showed me the site a couple days ago and I have been obsessed with it ever since.

I think why I’m so intrigued by this site isn’t necessarily how hilarious it is or its many, many references to Harry Potter (I wish I could attend Hogwarts).  But, whether it was intended or not, that simple website screams present-minded thinking.  I was reading through pages and pages of strangers’ “average” daily moments and realized how much I’ve been missing over the past few months.  With so much work to do, my lack of relaxation time was starting to  weigh on me.  Even an exciting day was hard to get out of bed for.  But regardless of my exhaustion or laziness, neither are reasons to be oblivious to all the silliness going on around me.  I feel like mylifeisaverage.com is a modern-day interpretation of the old saying, “don’t forget to stop and smell the roses.”

As a species, humans are totally out of control. I’m so baffled each day by our differences/qualities/abilities.  But now it’s nice to know we can collectively blog about all the funny, average things we do.
